Policy has quickly become a hot topic in cloud management and orchestration. As OpenStack clouds expand, penetrate the enterprise, and evolve with technologies such as containers, policy-based solutions for capturing user intent, automating management and security, and ensuring governance and compliance for applications has emerged as a critical area for development.

This panel will explore emerging trends and projects in policy developing in the OpenStack and OpenDaylight communities. It will discuss a number of topics, including:

What is meant “policy”. Is there a “right” approach?
Why is policy important? What are the key use cases?
What projects and capabilities are present in OpenStack and OpenDaylight today?
